PalmDSC is a free program that will let a PalmOS handheld interface with a telescope DSC encoder system.
It has databases for the Messier objects, the entire NGC/IC catalog, the planets, etc.
PalmDSC is robust and easy to use in the field. The C-language source code is also available.
