BEFORE INSTALLING!!!
Special instructions for upgrading from CarInfo 3.0:
Please back up all your previous data before installing this upgrade, especially long text fields, to your memo pad, since this is a totally recreated database making it impractical for an automatic upgrade. Previous Car Info programs are not compatible with this version. After installing the upgrade and making sure all your records are visible in the new program you will need to UNINSTALL your previous Car Info program. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT uninstall it via the Palm "delete program" feature in the standard launcher since some databases may be deleted, and you will loose some data. You can delete CarInfo using a third party file manager like FileZ (Freeware) or BeamPro (Shareware) for PalmOS. Search for them on Google.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Future updates will hopefully not involve this and will be compatible with this new type of database we created.

Things to remember:
In order to see the names of the cars in the table and to add them to the car list you will need to access the extra info form and tap on 'add car to db' for each car in the general form (Car Info button).
Make sure the pick lists have at least one record before using the pick list button with blank field. If there is a blank record in the pick list then new ones won't be added. To avoid this fill in the record and then use the pick list button if it is your first time using that pick list. This doesn't apply to the car pick list if you've added cars to the DB in the General Form.
When exporting records to the memo pad make sure the table filter, usually located on the top right corner, is not set to "All". You can only export filtered items from the database, unless there is an option in the menu items that allows you to export the entire database to a Palm doc or Memo file.
After selecting the menu item to "export" you will see a brief dialog indicating the items are being exported.
In some OS's you need to be viewing the filtered table you are about to export for proper exporting. If you are viewing another form on the application and try to export you may get an error and will need to reset your Palm (Soft Reset).
You will need a Palm doc reader to verify the doc file was created. Locate the doc file in your reader. Some readers require you search the Palm database to find newly created files. If you exported to memo, open your memo app to look for the newly created memo file. If you have never created a memo before, i.e., your memo pad app has no other records, you may get an error when trying to create a memo from the "Export to Memo" feature.
Now that your file is created you want to transfer it to your desktop. If it was a memo file it is easy. Just HotSync your PDA and the file will be transferred to MS Outlook® or the Palm Desktop®, depending on which you choose to sync.
To work with doc files on your desktop with MS Word® or other document editors you will need a third party program that will sync doc files with your desktop, like WordSmith® or Documents To Go®.
