It is composed of three separate components that: download the latest information from the world wide web, HotSync the data to your Palm Organizer, and display it in grid format for handheld viewing.

Version 4.0 is newly updated with many new features:

- Back from several months with no data source, WhatsOn now works with XMLTV. Because of this great open source project, there is now wide international support including data for USA, Canada, the UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Finland, New Zealand, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Denmark.

- Support for extended 320 x 480 resoultion display used by Sony Clie
