iambic's Health & Diet Manager Now Available for Palm OS

Centro Owners Can Proactively and Conveniently Track Progress Towards Achieving Diet Goals and Make Smarter Decisions Regarding Wellness and Nutritional Needs

iambic, Inc., a leading provider of innovative productivity-enhancing software, today announced the availability of Health & Diet Manager on the Palm OS platform. Now owners of the popular Palm Centro smartphone and Palm OS-based Treo have access to a convenient way to proactively manage their wellness and nutritional needs. Designed for today's on-the-go lifestyle, Health & Diet Manager provides essentials for making smarter meal and exercise choices, which is helpful for those seeking to lose (or maintain) weight and gain more energy which can be tapped throughout the day to get more done.

iambic has also announced the availability of a new, Windows Desktop version of Health & Diet Manager, as well as an update to the Windows Mobile Version (Pocket PC and Smartphone). To keep things simple, version number 3.0 will be used across all editions.

Health professionals and personal trainers have been touting the importance of writing down what you eat as a key factor in helping people consume fewer calories. iambic's Health & Diet Manager enables the logging of meal and exercise activities immediately, no matter where you are, using a Centro, Treo or other Windows Mobile-based smartphone. This improves accuracy and helps with overall awareness.

Health & Diet Manager can also be used to make better choices on what to eat. Leveraging the built-in database, it is easy to see the nutritional content of food items in a number of categories, and menu items from eateries like Burger King, McDonald's, Subway and Starbucks. Plus, the program's Exercise Activity logging feature can also be used to evaluate a wide variety of activities to understand the impact on calories burned.

"We designed Health & Diet Manager to do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to determining things like an individual's daily energy expenditure and ultimately, the number of calories necessary to achieve stated diet goals," said Adriano Chiaretta, chief operating officer of iambic, Inc. "That means that anyone using it is freed up to focus on what's essential -- making smarter choices about what they eat and types of exercise activities they should consider. And because it worked so well for Windows Mobile users, we felt compelled to make it accessible to others including the millions of Centro owners."

Pricing and Availability:

Version 3.0 of Health & Diet Manager for Palm OS can be downloaded and purchased from www.iambic.com for $19.95. The Windows desktop version, which allows complete data synchronization with the Palm OS as well as Windows Mobile Clients, is also priced at $19.95. When purchased together the price is $29.95.
